Michael Carrick: 'Support for Sir Alex Ferguson shows respect'

José Mourinho has stated that Manchester United are "very, very positive" that Sir Alex Ferguson will recover from a brain haemorrhage suffered on Saturday.

Wales manager Ryan Giggs, who was handed his United debut by Ferguson in 1991, said he was praying for his former manager's recovery.

Reports on Monday night claimed that Ferguson was showing signs of encouragement, with the 76-year-old said to be sitting up and talking to family and friends.
