The Ravens traded back into the final spot of the first round and landed the successor to Joe Flacco, taking Lamar Jackson with the 32nd-overall choice.

And Jackson brings some confidence too. It even started a conversation about the black quarterback in the NFL.

So, yeah, Carr feels for Louisville's Lamar Jackson, who is as polarizing a quarterback figure as any in recent drafts, what with some observers saying he should switch to receiver. The Saints traded away a first-rounder and a future first-round choice to get back into the round to select pass rusher Marcus Davenport. In the 2016 season, he set ACC records for the most rushing yards by a quarterback (1,571) and rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (21).

Jackson came back to school last fall heavily criticized for a reigning Heisman victor.

But the Cardinals quarterback not only repeated those numbers, he surpassed them in many categories. He also ran the ball 232 times for 1,601 yards and 18 touchdowns, marking the second year in a row that he threw for more than 3,000 yards and rushed for over 1,000 yards.

Of course, not all talent evaluators agree about Jackson; NFL Media's Tom Pelissero passed along one particularly damning assessment of the QB from an NFL offensive coordinator. During his Heisman season, he registered a completion percentage of just 56.2 percent.

The Ravens were not a lot of fun to watch last season, with an offense that seemed stuck in low gear.

The scout also believes Jackson and Wyoming's Josh Allen will be the two best quarterbacks from this draft, ahead of the likes of USC's Sam Darnold, UCLA's Josh Rosen and Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield.
