Congress doesn't believe in any constitutional institution: BJP

A no-holds-barred exchange on Monday had Congress President Rahul Gandhi mounting a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi who, he said, was only interested in becoming PM regardless of how bad his track record is.

Gandhi dared Modi to allow him to speak on the Rafale deal for just 15 minutes inside the parliament.

Rahul said that in constitutional bodies, they are being pressed.

'The Congress party has worked hard over the last 70 years to build the institutions in the country.

The Minister was replying to a query about Gandhi's allegations of increasing atrocities on Dalits since Narenddra Modi became the Prime Minister. "He isn't bothered about rapes", said the Congress President. Seen as the party's effort to reach out to the community ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the campaign launch is expected to be attended by former prime minister Manmohan Singh, party general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad, its senior leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sushil Kumar Shinde among others. The Congress chief alleged the government was sending those people to the country's institutions who believed in the RSS's ideology. "The Modi government is now destroying these institutions by appointing RSS ideologues to occupy important positions", said the Congress chief. Senior Congress leaders Ahmed Patel, Motilal Vora, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Ashok Gehlot, Sheila Dikshit and Congress's SC department chairman Nitin Raut were present at the launch of the campaign which will culminate on B R Ambedkar's birth anniversary next year.

He made special mention of the BJP slogan of "Beti Bechao, Beti Padhao" (Save the girl child, educate the girl child) and said the BJP is now reduced to the slogan "BJP se beti bachao" or "Save the girl child-from BJP MLAs".
