Amazon Fire TVs aren't a Best Buy for everyone

Amazon and Best Buy didn't share any details about the TVs themselves, but we expect them to be of the affordable variety, if past Fire TV models are anything to go by. The Fire Edition TVs by Insignia and Toshiba are created to work seamlessly with Amazon's own voice assistant Alexa.

Amazon is extending its partnership with Best Buy, announcing a deal to exclusively sell Fire-branded televisions at the electronics retailer's physical stores.

The Amazon Fire TV has been around for a few years now and has seen some success.

Amazon.com (amzn) has lined up a major partner to help it sell televisions that run on its new Fire TV operating system: one-time bitter rival Best Buy (bby). Global variants of the TVs for other countries are yet to be announced.

While Best Buy and Amazon announced the deal Wednesday, the companies' CEOs, Hubert Joly and Jeff Bezos, sat side by side talking about the deal with a handful of reporters on Tuesday. Best Buy will be launching more than ten 4K and HD Fire TV Edition models from manufacturers such as Toshiba and Insignia starting this summer.

The structure of PET is too crystalline to be easily broken down and while PET can be recycled, most of it is not. With the new enzyme, PET could be efficiently broken down and used again.

"In this iteration, Best Buy gets new devices that will drive foot traffic into its stores, and Amazon gets a brick-and-mortar showroom for more of its proprietary products", O'Shea said. Other streaming services, such as Netflix, HBO, PlayStation Vue, Hulu, as well as Amazon Prime, will be included.

The TVs come with a remote that has Amazon's Alexa voice-assistant built in, so you can press a button and say out loud the movies you want to watch, or what channel you want to switch to. The highlight feature of the Smart TVs is, of course, the Alexa integration. The new Fire TV Edition smart TVs will be available for purchase in Canada later this year.

This partnership also shows that Amazon realizes it needs to cooperate with retailers as it becomes more of a hardware company, Baker said.

You could. Just like you could buy a Roku Streaming Stick+ instead of one of the many excellent Roku TVs. Will you be buying one?
