Spring storm could bring snow, freezing rain over weekend: Environment Canada

A freezing rain warning is in place for Peterborough and southern Peterborough County, Lindsay and southern Kawartha Lakes, and Northumberland County, with an ice storm forecast for Sunday. "A few rounds of precipitation are likely during this period with a significant threat of prolonged freezing rain in some areas", the weather statement continued.

"Some uncertainty exists as to the time the precipitation switches to rain on Sunday".

Saturday morning, a freezing rain warning was in effect for the City of Toronto. 7 late April 14, with several centimetres of snow and ice pellets expected, Environment Canada said. The freezing rain is expected to last until Sunday morning before changing to more heavy rainfall.

Temperatures are expected to slowly rise through the first half next week, eventually hitting our typical mid-April daily highs of 11 C by Wednesday.
