Pelosi calls on EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt to resign

Scott is doing a excellent job!

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) said Sunday that, based "on policy grounds alone", Scott Pruitt should never have been administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Trump is of course referring to three separate scandals which have embroiled Pruitt: his unprecedented security force and its extraordinary cost; the affordable condo he rented in Washington, D.C. from a lobbyist with business before the EPA, and his high travel expenses.

Democrats in Congress are revealing damning details, many of them coming from disheartened EPA officials who see Pruitt as the agency's sworn enemy and who are using the protection of a so-called whistleblower law to privately lodge their ethical complaints.

Collins also discussed Trump's possible trade war with China, a chemical weapons attack in Syria and her vote for the Republican tax bill and the party's subsequent failure to pass her proposals to reduce health care costs. "Scott Pruitt has received death threats because of his bold actions at EPA", Trump wrote.

The mind of a congressional supervision panel is now exploring Pruitt'using a condominium connected into an energy lobbyist, a aide said on Saturday.

Trey Gowdy, a Republican and chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, told one environmental activist that he did not have "a lot of patience" with Pruitt's alleged practices.

In an interview on CNN's "State of the Union", the Maine Republican said the firestorm engulfing Pruitt "further distract" the EPA from "its very important mission".

The Pistons had their five-game winning streak snapped, and their defeat clinched a postseason spot for the Milwaukee Bucks . "The way our guys have persevered through these last 10 (games) says a lot about the character of this team".

"Well, to Mr Pruitt, and other members of the president's cabinet, I would say that ethics matter". Media reviews state the payment is less than twenty-five the buying price tag on similar properties.

Pruitt, 49, was closely aligned with the oil and gas industry as Oklahoma's state attorney general before being tapped by Trump, who has praised Pruiitt's relentless efforts to scrap, delay or rewrite Obama-era environmental regulations.

The EPA chief has also been accused of exorbitant spending, including the installation in his office - for $43,000 - of a secure, soundproof communications booth.

"First of all, let me say that the actions taken by Scott Pruitt in the environmental arena, whether it's trying to undermine the Clean Power Plan, or weaken the restrictions on lead, or undermine the methane rules, are reasons enough to validate my decision to oppose his confirmation", Collins replied. "You've just got to be a good steward of public services".

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly also told President Donald Trump last week that he was "convinced" that Pruitt needs to step down, a White House official told the Wall Street Journal.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters Friday that Trump believes Pruitt has "restored it back to its original goal of protecting the environment".

And it comes as he faces increasing scrutiny over his spending and management, as well as over his unusual rental arrangement a year ago with a longtime lobbyist.
