"Sky takes this matter extremely seriously and strongly condemns Jamie's actions", Sky said in a statement.

A spokesman for Sky said Carragher's behaviour "falls well below the standards we expect of our people".

"That's the biggest regret, obviously I've lots of regrets from what happened, but the biggest is for the 14-year-old girl".

Although the former footballer has issued a number of apologies since the incident on Saturday, Sky have made a decision to relieve the pundit from his duties for the foreseeable future.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has been suspended by Sky Sports after a video was released, showing the pundit defender spitting towards passengers in another auto who had been taunting him after his former side lost 2-1 to Manchester United.

The Vikings have been targeting Cousins for weeks and did not make much of an effort to retain Keenum. Since Denver has their guy in Keenum, there's no longer a need for a quarterback with the No. 5 pick.

In footage widely shown on British media, Carragher is seen winding down the window of his auto and spitting at another vehicle following Liverpool's 2-1 loss to Manchester United on Saturday (March 10).

The man, who appears to be driving and filming, says in reaction: "Jamie Carragher spat on my daughter". "Watching those clips back it feels like an out-of-body thing, that moment of madness for four or five seconds".

"I've got a daughter exactly the same age and it's hard to find the words I'd use on how I'd react to that or what I'd say to that person if I ever bumped into that person or something", he said. I apologise for it and (I'm) getting vilified, and rightly so. "What I would say is there's no doubt what I have done on Saturday after the game is disgusting, I apologise for it".

"I haven't offered my resignation but they have made it known that they are very disappointed about the shame now hanging over the name". I don't think that is a real representation of me. But of course this is a bad stain on me and my character.

"I want to listen to his version". I've had that (stick from supporters) plenty of times. I've never reacted like that before when I've had that, so I can not explain the reason why I reacted like that.
