And city officials in Miami Beach were certainly not laughing on Friday when they shut down the nightclub for creating what they said was a threat to public health and opened a criminal investigation into whether it had committed animal cruelty.
Two recent incidents where women rode a white horse inside Miami Beach nightclubs appeared to be trying recreate to a famous stunt at New York's Studio 54 in 1977. The horse then dips, the woman falls off and the horse bucks and walks off. People in the video are heard gasping and then cheering.
Mayor Dan Gelber praised the revocation of the club's business license, saying, "Animal cruelty is an abhorrent and vile act".
Police are now investigating the incident.
A man pulled the scared horse out of the club. I will also be sending this disturbing video to local news stations in hopes this nightclub can be penalized for the abuse of a poor and helpless animal.

As weird as the incident is, it's not the first time that a horse has been an attraction at a USA nightclub. "I am cooperating with the authorities", Jones told CBS4's Gary Nelson.
The Mokai club has come under fire on social media.
Late Friday afternoon the Beach revoked Mokai's license. Images of a camel and a painted donkey were provided to CBS Miami. But Melissa Berthier, a spokeswoman for the city, said in an email Saturday that the police had located the horse and had determined it to be "healthy and safe".
