New for 2018 are updated versions of the insanely thin Swift 7, the convertible Spin 3, and the beastly Nito 5 gaming laptop. It flaunts an 11.6-inch display and 4GB of RAM inside.

"Both the Switch 7 Black Edition and the Acer Predator Orion 9000 series showcase Acer's innovation and capabilities that push the boundaries of computing", said Chris Chiang, vice president of product management, Acer America.

The Acer Swift 7 will be available in North America in March with prices starting at US$1,699, naturally we'll have to wait a little longer for Australian price and availability. The Nitro 5 (AN515-42) starts at $799 (Rs 50,500 approximately) and ships in May 2018.

The ultrabook has also upgraded its 13.3-inch screen to 14-inch, although still with a 1080p resolution. Other highlights include a backlit keyboard, a Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touchscreen and touchpad, and a unibody aluminum chassis. This laptop is just 8.98 mm thin, runs on Windows 10 and boasts of all-day battery life. A simple black design with their renowned Acer branded logo on the back and you can clearly see how slim it is. Acer hasn't revealed the full specifications of the Spin 3. Acer says Spin 3's battery can last for up to 12 hours on a single charge.

The chips are created to power some of the highest-end gaming and professional laptops that will be shipped this year. The former is rather budget, ostensibly for entry-level laptops and convertibles, packing two cores and four threads.

Due to the high performance hardware installed in the system the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop is only capable of providing a few hours of play while away from a mains connection, although this is not going to cause an issue for most. There's also 10 hours of battery; the laptop also comes with 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD drive. The included Nitro Sense software is supposed to offer real-time Metrics for monitoring the GPU and CPU. At the event, Acer has made an impressive impact with its three updated launches.

There is also an HDR camera to enable video conference. Acer hasn't released a full spec sheet yet, but the laptop may be priced at $599 and will be available in February. It will also go on sale in the North American markets at $249 (roughly Rs. 15,800). Australian pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed.
