J&K CRPF camp attack: Late night assault took jawans by surprise

In Pulwama of Jammu and Kashmir, 4 soldiers have been killed in the fidayeen attack on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) training centre in Lethpora area of South Kashmir.

Initially, Rising Kashmir had reported that "three militants" were killed. A CRPF official said the "heavily armed militants stormed the camp at about 2 am".

Meanwhile, the internet services have been slowed down.

According to emerging reports, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen hand suspected behind the attack. Three terrorsits had stormed a CRPF training camp to stage a fidayeen attack at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.

Yadav told PTI the terrorists fired indiscriminately and injured three CRPF personnel. With this, the number of CRPF who were killed in the encounter has reached five including the one who suffered a heart attack.

Two of the militants were also gunned down; they said adding the operation was still going on as it is believed that one or two militants are still in the building. The bodies of two terrorists have also been recovered. The militant and security forces are still fighting.

"Four CRPF jawans were martyred in the operation that lasted for almost 12 hours", a police officer said.
