Christmas celebrated with fervor and gaiety in Kerala

Addressing the mass, the bishop highlighted importance of the day and advised the community members to follow the message of Christmas to enlighten the world.

In Gulmarg's Saint Mary's church, Santa Claus distributed chocolates and candies among the children. Special prayers were also offered for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu participated at Christmas prayers, held in St Paul's Cathedral church, near Benz Circle here.

The church was decorated with colourful buntings and balloons and it wore a festive look.

Locals along with the tourists present in the Valley joined the celebrations on the auspicious day.

He also said that not inviting the chief minister to the inauguration programme at Noida was an "insult" to the people of Delhi. From the metro station, Modi proceeded to sector 125 rally ground at Amity University where he will address a public rally.

"I hope in the year ahead, we will be witnessing further cooperation and rapport on the path to boosting and deepening peace, security and tranquility, and further consolidation of friendships across the globe", he added.

"Occasions like Christmas remind us to rekindle the spirit of harmony, brotherhood & lead a virtuous life". Similar arrangements have been made at a number of places across the state. "We do not care for each other and we do not have the courage to show humanity", the pastor said.

On the occasion, Secretary Tourism Sarmaad Hafeez addressed the gathering and said, "The department was organising cultural events and adventure sports activities to entertain tourists and to engage locals".

The department has already inaugurated skiing and other winter sports activities at Gulmarg. The Christian community also attended the special services on Sunday and visited their relatives and friends to exchange Christmas greetings.
