The Seminoles depart on Saturday for Shreveport, where they will face Southern Miss in the Independence Bowl. However, FSU has responded and made it quite clear that they are eligible and their historic 36-game bowl streak will stay alive.

A reddit report drawing attention to Florida State's mistaken bowl eligibility is picking up steam. The teams will face off at 1:30 p.m. EST on December 27. Friday night, the Florida State athletic department issued a statement refuting the earlier reports that the win over Delaware State should not have counted due to DSU allegedly not meeting the 90 percent requirement. Bakonydraco received scholarship data from Delaware State and found 87 percent of the scholarship limit was used over two years.

Reddit user bakonydraco, an applied scientist from the San Francisco Bay Area, challenges FSU's bowl eligibility based on the Seminoles' 77-6 win over Delaware State on November 18.

Because of that, it would mean the win for FSU technically would not count towards bowl eligibility.

SpaceX rocket launch causes concern across Southern California
The reused SpaceX rocket has carried 10 satellites into space from California, leaving behind it a trail of mystery and wonder. Around 5:45 p.m., the engine was cutoff and the stage separation was confirmed and the second stage engine burn was underway.

Thus, Florida State's win over Delaware State shouldn't count and would leave the Seminoles at 5-6.

As the AP points out, contracts between Football Bowl Subdivision and FCS programs for regular season games usually stipulate that the FCS program meet the bowl-eligibility requirement.

Florida State was ranked No. 3 nationally to start the season but lost both its season opener to Alabama and starting quarterback Deondre Francois in the process to a season-ending injury. "We're continuing preparations for our game", public and media relations director for Independence Bowl Stefan Nolet told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday afternoon.
