"With the release of the Galaxy A8, we're bringing our customers' favourite features from our flagship smartphones, such as the Infinity Display and our first Dual Front Camera with Live Focus, to our Galaxy A series, which is already known for its premium design", Conor Pierce of Samsung UK & Ireland said.

The Galaxy A8 has one other interesting feature, a dual-lens front camera that's supposed to offer users better selfies, complete with camera effects seen on the Galaxy Note 8, which has a rear-facing dual shooter.

Buyers looking for phones with Infinity Displays that don't break the bank will be able to check these out in stores in early January in markets around the world. The 2018 Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8 Plus are two of the most fascinating phones from Samsung in a while. The device is almost all screen on the front now. The Galaxy A8 Plus has a 6-inch screen.

The render for a clear case over the Galaxy S9+ shows a large window on the phone's rear, which is roomy enough for two vertical cameras and an oblong fingerprint reader below it. This makes us wonder if that will be the place of the fingerprint sensor for the Galaxy S9 and Note 9. An octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM powers the A8, in addition to there is 32GB of memory, a finger print sensor, a MicroSD card space, and NFC for Samsung Pay. Check out those dual cameras.

In Ireland the Galaxy A8 will be available from April in three colours - black, gold and orchid grey to suit your personal style.

"The Galaxy A8 exemplifies our continued dedication to meeting the needs of our consumers by providing them with greater choice and convenience".

The big difference between the Galaxy A and the S and Note series is that the Galaxy A smartphones are much more affordable.

The Galaxy A8 Plus has a 3,500mAh battery compared with the 3,000mAh cell inside the A8, and both accompany fast charging.

Coming to the specifications of the two smartphones, to get it right off the bat, the two devices don't differ a lot.

And a new hyperlapse feature enables you to create time-lapse videos. What do you think about the new placement of the fingerprint sensor?

Vivo will release a smartphone with a built-in screen dactyloscopus
Synaptics announced last week that it was mass producing in-display fingerprint sensors for a "top five" smartphone OEM. For now, neither Vivo nor Synaptics is saying which of Vivo's smartphones will first come with Clear ID.
