Irving scored 30 points for Boston, which trailed 107-102 after Oladipo's basket with 31 seconds remaining. With less than a minute remaining, Oladipo hit a 3-pointer that gave IN its first lead of the game and a layup that stretched the Pacers' lead to 107-102 with 31 seconds left.

Kevin Durant scored 36 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and passed out eight assists.

Boston led 38-21 after one quarter, but IN kept chipping away.

Irving stepped out to the left corner for a 3-pointer, cutting the IN lead to 107-105 with 27.5 seconds left. Just moments before, Indiana's leading scorer Victor Oladipo rose up and drilled a no-doubt 3-pointer, giving IN a three-point lead. But this time instead of a 16-0 run, the Celtics ran into some resistance, with a Stephenson 3-pointer cutting the Celtics edge to 87-82 with 10:25 left. They ended up hitting 70 percent of their shots in the first and led 38-21 heading into the second period.

The Sixers, who lost for the sixth time in seven games, played without seven-foot centre Joel Embiid, who rested on the first night of back-to-back games. Pacers veteran C Al Jefferson saw action during the first quarter. Jefferson didn't score in four minutes off the bench.
