The app makes the BBC's full range of live radio stations and on-demand podcasts available to Amazon Echo and Alexa users for the first time, with users able to access these by asking for a station or show.

The new feature supports a variety of music services to use as alarm tones, including Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, SiriusXM, and iHeartRadio.

The second generation Amazon Echo DOT has just been released in Canada.

In addition, Amazon Music subscribers can choose the song that the music alarm will play through lyrics or by choosing a mood.

All of the BBC's 56 radio stations in the United Kingdom are included, meaning users can bypass the default TuneIn service and go straight to the BBC content by saying "Alexa, play Radio 1" for example.

The music alarm can also be set up as a recurring one by adding terms such as "every weekday" to the voice command.

Since first launching in the U.S. in October of 2016, Amazon Music Unlimited has expanded to the UK, Germany, Austria, Japan and more, transforming music streaming with the ability to just ask Alexa to play music by voice and creating the most natural listening environment for millions of subscribers.

The feature doesn't seem to have rolled out to all regions as it didn't seem to work on an Echo device that we tested it on in India.
