State regulators have received complaints of massage therapists at Massage Envy locations in North Carolina inappropriately touching and sexually assaulting people, according to an attorney for the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy.
Kendall said she was getting a couples massage by Marco Rigo, when he put his genitals into her open palm. The manager refused to end the current spa session and instead she "invited me in to talk about my services", Ingram claimed.
Women have reported being groped and digitally penetrated.
In Minnesota, KARE 11 found at least one incident where a victim said she was sexually assaulted at a Massage Envy in Edina in September of 2017.
FOX40 has reached out to the owners of the Elk Grove Massage Envy franchises that have pending sexual assault lawsuits.
Massage Envy released the following statement: "Each of these incidents are heartbreaking for us and for the franchisees that operate Massage Envy locations". But overall, Melanie Hansen, general counsel of Massage Envy Franchising, said the company has worked hard to create the industry's "most stringent, rigorous policies" for hiring, screening, and training therapists.
Too disturbed to report the assault immediately, she called the manager after she got home.
The Massage Envy franchise network has more than three dozen spas across North Texas and almost 1,200 in the United States.

Eventually, Ingram did call the police. One woman reported that her therapist inserted his entire fist into her vagina before ejaculating on to her face.
"We believe that even one incident is too many, so we are constantly listening, learning, and evaluating how we can continue to strengthen our policies with respect to handling of these issues", the company said.
"Massage Envy told BuzzFeed News that it would not be "appropriate to respond point-by-point" to questions "because of pending litigation" and the confidential documents involved".
According to the Florida Department of Health, more than 100 massage businesses in Duval County have been disciplined for various reasons since 1986, but there has never been an complaint about a local Massage Envy.
The Chester County DA's office says Deiter was linked to nine victims, but a BuzzFeed report says it's actually a disturbing trend with other suspects harming almost 200 alleged Massage Envy victims from coast to coast.
The incidents were reported at franchises nationwide, from California to New Jersey.
