A third year of content for Rainbow Six Siege has been announced by Ubisoft, set to kick off in January 2018, and arriving in four installments over the course of the year. Playing during Outbreak will allow players to unlock cosmetic items that are exclusive to the event. In the new event, players will take on zombies, who are the ever-present threat in video games.
In its third year of content and support, the game will have four seasons, and eight new operators. Season 2 will add two new Italian GIS Operators and a new map featuring Italy whilst Season 3 will add two operators from the Scotland Yard, UK and Delta Force, US. The full reveal of the new mode and Operation Chimera will take place during Ubisoft's Six Invitational 2018 early next year. The intense multiplayer shooter that bears Tom Clancy's name has been a rock solid success for publisher Ubisoft, and it is about to get a new mode that is sure to keep people hooked for at least another four weeks.

That teaser image above for Outbreak, and judging by its name and Operation Chimera's new operators being "specialists in biohazard situations" this could be some undead/zombie related co-op experience but we really hope it isn't. Season One, called Operation Chimera, will add a pair of new operators to the action, one from France and one from Russian Federation, but instead of a new map it will feature the launch of the game's first-ever co-op event, Outbreak, a three-player "new fantasy" about quarantine and biohazard. If you have not gotten into Rainbow Six: Siege yet, IGN reports a number of outlets will have it for $25 as a Black Friday 2017 deal. Are many of you still playing Rainbow Six?
