Liverpool v Chelsea - Premier LeagueWhat's the story?

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is eyeing a late move in the transfer market to try and sign Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches, according to a report in the Liverpool Echo. The Portuguese worldwide has been heavily linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena outfit, with numerous clubs including Chelsea and Monaco interested in his services.

Sanches, 20, signed for Bayern last summer from Benfica for a fee of £31.5million but has not quite made the impact that had been expected.

Let us know your thoughts. If Bayern Munich want to farm him out for a season, and assuming their are no permanent solutions Klopp favours, it would be hard to turn him down as an option for the coming campaign.

As Liverpool have been frustrated in their pursuit of RB Leipzig's Naby Keita, with the player's contract's release clause not active until the end of next season, Renato Sanches could be the ideal stop-gap.

Ahead of Bayern's Bundesliga opener against Werder Bremen on Saturday, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager claimed that he did not have any problem with Sanches departing from Bavaria this summer.

The Reds will have to shell out in excess of £30m if they are to make the Portuguese's move permanent, however, there is no compulsion to buy in the deal. That said, there is no questioning the ability he has as he proved with his performances at Euro 2016 that he can shine when he's happy playing football. The Bavarians, who have now won their last 16 games against Werder in all competitions, are on six points, the same as Hamburg SV, who won 3-1 at Cologne on Friday.
